The Daguerreian Society's efforts, through this Website, our Annuals, the bimonthly Newsletters, and the annual Symposium and Tradefair, are attempts to demonstrate our appreciation to our ancestors for leaving us such a wonderful visual legacy. The daguerreotype is a truthful mirror that reveals nineteenth-century life--the charm as well as the adversity--in beautiful detail. I believe it is a form of history that we all can enjoy.
